Advocacy can take many forms. Seattle Bicycle Advocate, PLLC was born out of a desire to do more to support people who love to ride their bicycles in Seattle. I chose this business name to reflect my dual bicycle advocacy priorities: legal and social.
First and foremost, I advocate for you. I take my role as your advocate seriously. As your legal advocate, my priority is tenacious representation of your interests. This includes getting to know you and hearing about your goals and priorities. Everyone is different. Once I know what you hope to achieve, I can structure your representation to help you reach your goals.
Over the many years I’ve had the privilege of practicing bicycle law, I’ve heard many clients express that one of the reasons they want to pursue their claim is to make bicycling safer for others. It’s been humbling and inspiring to hear this affirmation from people who are nursing serious injuries and recovering from terrible experiences on the roads. While I truly believe that with each case I resolve I help make Seattle safer for those of us who ride our bicycles, I believe that through my work I can do even more to take my advocacy to the next level!
Seattle Bicycle Advocate supports causes you care about. People who love to ride bicycles are passionate about making their communities better for and through bicycling. I agree! I am passionate about promoting bicycling by and through Seattle Bicycle Advocate. PLLC. This is why I have pledged—as an individual and as a business entity—to support those groups who are working tirelessly to promote bicycling and make it a safer and better experience for all.
There are many excellent non-profits that support bicycling in Seattle—I have no need to reinvent the (bicycle) wheel! Unfortunately, many of these organizations are chronically underfunded. Seattle Bicycle Advocate has pledged to donate a minimum of 5% of the fees earned on every case to support local bicycle advocacy groups who are working to promote bicycling in Seattle. Additionally, Seattle Bicycle Advocate participates in direct-action advocacy.
Examples of organizations Seattle Bicycle Advocate supports include: Cascade Bicycle Club, Bike Works, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, and FamilyBike Seattle. If you have other bicycle organizations you like to support, please let me know!
